Learning Guugu Yimithirr with Lillian Bowen

Yirrgii Guugu Yimithirrbi – Speak Guugu Yimithirr

Yirrgii Guugu Yimidhirrbi is a scripted spoken Guugu Yimidhirr course developed by the Guugu Yimidhirr Language Recording Revitalisation and Maintenance Project (Lillian Bowen, Karin Calley and Jan Goetesson) – delivered by Lillian Bowen at Hope Vale School. This course was developed as four large format presentation books supported by a range of classroom posters. The first of these books is available below.

Updated versions of all Yirrgii Guugu Yimidhirrbi resources, with Haviland’s second spelling system (‘t’ rather than ‘d’and ‘j’ rather than ‘dy’) will soon be available.
