November 2016 – First meeting of the Pama Language Centre Committee and Languages Strategy Worshop
The Pama Language Centre Committee met for the first time in November 2016. The PLC Committee is made up of ancestral language champions from each of Pama Language Centre’s target speech communities, so the Committee is growing each year as new speech communities approach us for support. Pama Language Centre Committee meetings are a rare opportunity for members from geographically remote areas to get together and share experiences and ideas and to plan language activities for the coming year.
The day following the Committee Meeting PLC representatives led the first ancestral language strategy workshop with Cape York Partnership.
