Gudang Language Revival Activity

There has been no maintenance activity for the Gudang language. Terry Crowley’s informants (Willie Somerset, Roy Stevens, Larry McDonald) had not heard of the Gudang tribe at the time of his writing (1975) and proposed that it was an exonym for mainland Australian tribes). The term has been taken to mean the people who once lived at the tip of Cape York and Somerset and is currently undergoing a cultural re-awakening.
